Although it is a lot, it is possible to lose up to 1kg of fat a week safely. But it's going to take some work, and especially if you want lasting results, fat burners are not the solution. Diet is very important and you should look into it, I don't know how much and what you're eating now but here are a few guidelines: -Drink enough, preferably water -Cut out soda, cookies, sugar in coffee or tea, sweets and snacks.
These are things that don't 'feed' your body. They only contain (lots) of energy, but no other nutrients. -Eat plenty of vegetables.
Vegetables contain fiber, which is very important for gut functioning and helps in weight loss. They do not contain not many calories in general and lots of vitamins and minerals. -Make sure protein intake is maintained.
Good sources of protein are lean meats, cooked eggs, dairy such as cottage cheese, nuts and peanuts (no peanuts are no nuts, they are legumes) -Lower carb diets generally work, but don't go too low. Choose healthier sources of carbohydrates, like whole grain bread or pasta, and not too much. Next to this I would recommend plenty of exercise to increase your resting energy expenditure.
Try for three days a week of strength training. (Can be done in half an hour if done properly) This will increase muscle mass and therefore resting metabolism, making it easier to burn fat. On other days try to add high intensity interval training.
Normally I would combine strength and cardio on the same day, but since you only got half an hour a day, it is better to alternate. Try to do interval cardio at least 2 times a week. Otherwise make sure you get plenty of low intensity exercise such as walking or riding the bicycle.
This can be done everyday of the week. A note on fat burning supplements, the most effective ones are banned in most countries and possibly dangerous. The ones that are legal, mostly aren't that effective and should be combined with a healthy diet and exercise (green tea extract is a safe one, but no wonder cure).
Others don't work at all. Lastly I want to add, that I wouldn't focus too much on weight alone, but see how your body develops during training and healthy diet. Maybe you have achieved your goal long before the 7 kg are gone.

Those little crackerstick and cheese things that were all the rage in elementary school are a great easy snack if she's interested. 15 carbs and easy to transport. I'm in college now and I don't drink, I'm constantly scared that I'll go low while driving and crash.

Everyone is actually really interested because if they're not diabetic they've likely never seen a glucose meter and theyre pretty nifty little machines. Sometiems I think hypoglycemia is tougher to deal with than diabetes. because there ahs been so little research done adn everyoen who suffers from it does so to varying degrees.
There is no cure, no real treatment other than diet- which is not 100% effective, and very few people willing to accept that it is a real illness. I know it sucks, but lots of times you have to swallow your pride and ask total strangers for help. Soemtimes it helps you meet new people.
I was in class with a diabetic girl once and we had a lot in common! One day she wet low adn we had a great time talking about glucose tabs and swapping stories. Give her a splenda cupcake:) They're tasty and low carb!

Here's the thing. Your food plan isn't bad, but you need to add more, especially protein.
If you restrict your calories too much you won't lose weight. Yes, you'll lose water weight, but actually losing fat, no. When you restrict your calories that much, your brain prepares for starvation and will slow your metabolism and store any calories you take in.
Not good. Your dinner plan is great and you should add more fresh veggies and you've got a great healthy, low carb meal. The more fruits and veggies you eat, the more fiber you're taking in which will keep you fuller longer.
Your breakfast plan isn't bad, but I've found cornflakes tend to get burned off quick and you'll find yourself hungry within a short time. Add more protein, like bacon, sausage and/or eggs. Also, for lunch, you need more than a snack bar.
That will NOT keep hunger away until dinner time. The best way to lose weight quickly, but not starve yourself is a low carb diet. If you stick to the food plan you have, it will be very difficult for you to stick to it.
Also, by eating the same thing daily, you'll tire quickly of what you're eating and start having cravings. You'll get to the point where you won't be able to stand to eat the same food everyday. If you do manage to lose weight, you'll gain it right back and then some.
Don't set yourself up for failure! By going on a low carb diet, you'll lose weight and it will be easier to maintain. Eat eggs, cheese and lean meats as well as lots of fruits and veggies as well as other low carb foods.
It doesn't sound like much, but once you like that the variety you have in each category, it will make it easier to do. It's good that you're busy with studies, but a short brisk walk would only take 15 or 20 minutes out of your day and would help tremendously. Not only would it improve your mental function and help with self esteem, it would also raise your metabolism.
Running or jogging would help you gain muscle, especially in your thighs but beware of shin splints! I figured that out the hard way. Once you're down with shin splints, no exercise until you heal.
To avoid shin splints, I recommend brisk walking. It will still help build muscle in your thighs just as well as jogging. Best of luck!

I've been there. I went diabetic at 12 weeks with my son.
At least you're meeting with an educator pretty soon-- I had to wait 2 WEEKS to get into my perinatologist's office. But anyway. I managed my GD with diet/exercise and Glyburide, an oral medication.
Even with the medication, I had to look at the guidelines the nurses gave me and started cutting carbs. Its carbs that you need to be watching right now. In addition to cutting fruits/juices, also look at your intake of bread, pasta, rice, etc.
Protein and fresh veggies are great now-- plus good cheeses. Eggs, lean meat, leafy greens (legumes-- peas, beans etc. are also higher in carbs, so go easy), broccoli, fish, etc.
are all good. I was pretty much vegetarian prior to my GD diagnosis, and when I looked at my diet, I was amazed at how carb-heavy it really was. You will also need to really work at a good diet/eating schedule.
Breakfast CANNOT be skipped, and also you'll need a morning and afternoon snack. I found the SouthBeach Diet high-protein cereal bars were good for this, just a serving of carbs, ok for a snack. My breakfast was all-protein, usually a nice breakfast sausage (kosher).
Lunch was a salad with chopped meat, veggies, dressing on the side. Dinner was normally some scrambled eggs or a chicken curry with all kinds of veggies. Exercise was walking, lots and lots of walking.
At about 35 weeks, I had to cut my medication as my wake-up blood sugars were getting in the low-dangerous range. You MUST do this for your child. That was what kept me on the program-- the thought of the risks to the baby and wanting the best start for him.
I had some additional complications, and so my drs & I did this careful balancing act prior to delivering him-- the lungs of babies of diabetic mothers don't seem to mature as fast as otherwise, so they generally want you to go as close to the due date as possible. (We were five days from my due date, and there wasn't ANY problem with the kid's lungs, believe me!) :) I still watch my carbs very carefully, as I have a family history of type-II diabetes, but I'm not diabetic (my son is a healthy, talkative, active 3-yr old).
His blood sugars were always normal after his birth, and although he was 9.5 lbs at birth, he's been in the 75% height and 50% weight since 6 months of age. After you deliver, they will give you 6 weeks of no testing, etc.
('cause you'll need carbs if you nurse), and then give you another glucose tolerance test, and go from there. I'm no longer diabetic, but as I said, I really watch now because of my family history. Sorry this is so long, but I had these questions too.
